Penarth Pier to be Transformed…

by Rob Petersen, Managing Director

I spent many happy days as a youngster fishing off the Penarth Pier with moderate success catching conger eels, pollock and other fish varieties. I was therefore delighted to read in today’s South Wales Echo of the unanomous decision by the Vale of Glamorgan, planning committee to approve a new scheme to transform this iconic landmark.

The plans to transform the pier into a modern arts, leisure and community complex should be applauded, lets hope the Heritage Lottery Fund provides the neccessary funding to start the project later this year.

I look forward to demonstrating  my fishing skills to my grandchildren in years to come from the truly magnificant iconic structure.
